Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, that is intended to prevent the so-called e-mail spoofing where an email message is sent from one email address, but to look as being sent from a different, typically with the objective to scam the recipient for some reason. When SPF protection is activated for a domain, an exclusive record is created for it in the Domain Name System and all DNS servers globally get it. The record contains all e-mail servers that are permitted to send valid messages from an email address part of the domain. When a message is sent, the very first DNS server it goes to checks the SPF record and if the sending server is authorized, the message is forwarded to the targeted receiver. When, however, the sending server is not present in the SPF record for the particular domain, the e-mail message won't be forwarded and it will be discarded. When you use this service, it will prevent third parties from sending spam e-mails which seem to have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Website Hosting

SPF protection can be activated for any domain hosted in a website hosting account on our cloud hosting platform with just a couple of mouse-clicks. The feature can be found in the Emails section of our leading-edge Hepsia Control Panel and all you need to activate it is to select one of your domains from the drop-down menu and then type in the hostnames plus the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the email servers that will be approved to send messages from your emails. As an added option you can also restrict the email messages to be sent from your domain name only when it has our MX records, i.e. if our servers handle the email addresses for it, not some third-party supplier. This solution offers you the highest standard of safety, but it's not applicable if only your site is on our servers while your email addresses for the domain are handled in a different place. In either case, the SPF protection service will keep your email addresses safe from being used for spam and scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The Hepsia web hosting Control Panel, that comes with all of our Linux semi-dedicated hosting services, offers you an incredibly user-friendly interface to enable the SPF protection service for each domain that you host inside your new account. Just a few clicks in the Emails section of Hepsia are enough for that then you will only have to type in the hostname and the IP address of the mail server that will be permitted to send messages from your email addresses. When the e-mail messages are handled by us and not by a different supplier, you can increase the security level even more and benefit from an option for all of the outgoing e-mail messages to be sent only if your domains use our MX records. This option gives you increased control and it'll eliminate any possibility of anybody faking your e-mail addresses with the objective of spamming and scamming people. It's not applicable when only your web site is hosted on our outstanding cloud hosting platform, while your email addresses are managed by some other provider. If you are not sure what features to pick, our technical support team will assist you 24/7.
